Turns out the solar crash feed hasn’t been working the last week, I think I just fixed it. You might need to actually visit the site to see the most recent posts.
Hit the icon below if you’re not yet subscribed or if you don’t know what a feed is sign yourself up for google reader and make your web surfing habit a bit easier.

I have no idea if anyone still uses technorati, I’ve never promoted it on this site, and I’m not sure what it does for me, but feel free to ‘fave’ the blog if you’re a member there.

If you would like to get added to do a link exchange and get added to my rotating blogroll on the sidebar, just let me know.
I make $4-8 bucks a month on text link ads, sign up at the banner below if you’re interested.
If you would like to guest blog on Solar Crash, have suggestions, or other questions, feel free to contact me here.

It’s shaping up to be another really busy week. But here’s a question for all of you who visit here.
How can I make this blog better?
Content: Would you like to see me post more practical how-to’s? More depth? More questions? More Stories? More controversial topics? More reviews? More resources? More serial posts? More struggles? More convictions? More Focus? More on certain topics? Church planting? Creativity? Leadership? Technology? Faith? Life? Culture? Photos? Something else specific you’d like me to post on?
Format and Style: What are your thoughts on… Ads? Post frequency? Post length? Visuals? Font size? Header? Navigation? Organization? Clutter? Referencing? Interaction/Response time? Linking? Theme? Formatting? Image size, Load times? Other suggestions?
Otherwise, I’d just continue doing whatever the heck I want. So here’s your chance, don’t worry I won’t take any offense to any comments, I think.
* No promises on me doing anything about it, I’d appreciate the feedback!

It always feels odd when people I interact with give me these glowing remarks about who I am and something I’ve just done. The pervading thought in my mind is often how the substance of those comments are so very temporal.
I’ve likely been far better and been far worse, but people gauge you based on what they see of you upfront, or most recently.
I feel the same way with blogs. Current blogging structures are all ordered in reverse chronological order giving the random reader the most recent post rather than the most significant post or posts that resonate with the heart of the blog.
Anyhow, I’m going to begin doing roundups of my best posts each month and year from now on and hopefully that helps give this blog a bit more flare and identity.
Here are November’s picks – feel free to continue interacting on any of them.
- Tantric Preaching
- Pastoring vs. Jesus
- Multi-Ethnicing a church
- I declare – “No Church Sunday”
- Pulling hearts out
I will no longer be updating posts here.

Virtual relationships…
by Lon on December 15, 2007
There are so many more people around the world who read my blog than people I connect with regularly in person.
I’m guessing part of this is because if you’re in my regular circles, well, we can catch up just about anytime we want in person. Another part might be due to the anonymity of the internet and how you can peek into someone’s life without them ever knowing about it. And then there’s those of you who’ve contributed to the thousand plus comments here.
Either way, I’m thankful for those of you who might actually think I have something of value to say or share. I’m amazed by the number of you who subscribe to the SolarCrash feed because as much as I’ve tried to narrow the scope of the blogging, you really never know what you’re going to get. So thanks for sticking around.
I’ve also especially appreciate the interaction. The networking has been fantastic, and your comments have been both encouraging and insightful.
I’ll be removing the plugoo instant chat widget I have on the sidebar (just so it doesn’t become a let down when I’m not around), but it’s awesome how with technology today I’ve been able to interact with so many church planters, leaders, and strangers around the world. Just yesterday I chatted with a teen who had been a cutter and was wondering what god had to do with life at all.
You can continue connecting with me further via comments, the contact page, or even via facebook if you’re into that sort of thing.
So again, thank you for reading, thank you for sticking around, thank you for commenting, thank you for clicking the ads, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day, and although the relationships might primarily be virtual, thank you for the friendships. I’m looking forward to the journey ahead together.
My name is Lon, and I thank God for blogs.
