No Guarantees

A friend of mine passed away very abruptly this past Friday. (Right now I’m totally regretting on not making it out for coffee with her a couple days earlier)

She was one of those people who battled resistance and accomplished far more in her life than most despite the odds against her.

Did she accomplish all of her dreams? I doubt it.

She gave it her all and she had unfinished work.

Even if you manage to overcome resistance, there are no guarantees in works of kindness, creativity, and generosity.

Anything can happen. We stumble, things just don’t work out right, our moment passes, there are countless things that can go wrong.

One thing I take solace in is that as we do our life’s work – our tears, sweat, and scars leave a trail that points the way for others in creating the world that ought to be.

Sorry for your loss of a friend. I lost a friend and mentor last fall, and I too missed an appointment with him just a few days prior. Praying for you and her family.

Erin / Don – Thanks for the support. It’s incredible how fragile we all are.
