Supposedly a tornado went through Minneapolis at the same time the Lutherans were trying to decide whether “practicing homosexuality is a behavior that should disqualify a person from the pastoral ministry”.
John Piper’s openly declared the tornado a warning from God.
Regardless of your take on the issue itself, what’s your take on the connection? How do you discern the relationship between what you do and the warnings of God?

Are you kidding me? John Piper made that comment? Unbelievable….I am not under the assumption that God is in the destruction business? I thought He was all about reconstruction and restoration?
Uhh I thought Piper was smarter than that! That's 700 Club material, not Piper!
I guess everybody says stuff they shouldn't have…
Scripturally the answer is clear, *very* clear, and one could expect to see God's wrath…hmm…
Ok let's try this again.
Maybe the tornado was God getting pissed off, maybe there was just a Tornado. Regardless, we're in big trouble if the Church keeps ignoring scripture like this.
Sad day..
Isn't God in both the destruction and restoration business? I'm recalling the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, Israel's exile under the various empires, etc. The pattern of God's interaction seems to be one of destruction to bring about restoration, or at least that's what I have been taught.
I'm with God being sovereign over all things – but i think the real issue underlying here is if we can sift through all the natural disasters or even minor occurrences like a flu and directly equate it to being a result of another incident or discussion that's happening…
