Hey Al, I agree, guy #1 and #2 takes major guts. I wonder how often guy #3 bails out, and what could have been a movement, quickly fades away. I think we shouldn't discount #49 either, maybe #49 connects 3-4 others that never would have joined.

I don't tend to see myself as courageous enough (or is it foolhardy?) to be the first guy, most of the time. But the world definitely needs that kind of visionary leadership.
I don't usually have the cojones to be guy #2.
But I can see myself as guy #3. And I'd rather be 3rd than 49th.
Here's more of what I thought when I saw the vid. http://al-muses.blogspot.com/2009/06/me-three.html

I don't do crazy dance stuff like that. But if you're talking about me and my blog... I'm pretty sure most people who read my blog think I'm crazier than that guy #1.

>What makes you step out when no one else is?
>What keeps you going when no one else seems to be joining?

My crazy thoughts. It may be the Holy Spirt... or it may be just who I am. But lately I've felt a bit like that dancer guy at the beginning... but I have no false expectations that many will join me. But I think I'll keep dancing anyways.

Great video!

[...] Lon Wong recently posted this after reading this post from Seth Godin about a ‘movement’ that spontaneously comes together at a music festival. Lon and Seth both chose different guys from the video to focus on and i guess i tend to focus more on guy number for reasons that Lon mentions in his entry. anyway, i thought the video was cool and i like the insightful points, questions and action steps that both Seth and Lon raise and present. (thanks Marty for tipping me on to the link to Lon’s blog) [...]
