21 Questions by Zaya Kuyena

Date November 3, 2008

INTRODUCING my friend and guest blogger Zaya Kuyena.
One who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; one who does not ask a question remains a fool forever ~ Chinese Proverb
As the world tunes into an-(another) historical American Election, I remind myself one of my respected and admired American music artist from the city [...]

At-home-dad

Date November 3, 2008

The next three weeks I’m taking care of my daughter full-time.  It’s going to be sweet fun, but next to no work’s going to get done.
I don’t usually have a car during the days, any suggestions on what to do during these weeks of daddy-bootcamp?
Below’s a shot from yesterday morning.  We had our no-church-sunday, which [...]

My Election Projections…

Date November 1, 2008

Let the bets begin.  Here’s my projections for the electoral map

With a lot of the state polls tightening, the Bradley effect, the reverse-Bradley effect, the republican 72 hour blitz, voter turn out suppression, and machine malfunctions, here’s my gut take.

Obama’s definitely on the offense, [...]

From a recent issue of Toronto Life:

What do you think?  Has baby idol hit your city?

Tribes by Seth Godin

Date October 31, 2008

I just finished Seth Godin’s Tribes. Seth’s always great with explaining the obvious, but it’s the obvious we’re often most oblivious to.
If you’re interested in leadership, creating movements, and transformation… go get it if you haven’t had a chance.
You can see his tribes presentation below with notes.

Suburbia - Designed to avoid community?

Date October 28, 2008

What might Jesus say to suburbia today?
Introducing Jake Belder, a fellow Canadian living in Florida right now.
I feel that in many ways suburbia is like the antithesis of how God intended us to live. Where we were meant to live in community, we find rampant individualism. Where we were meant to give of ourselves and [...]

Driscoll’s NT Guide

Date October 27, 2008

I just finished one of Mark Driscoll’s mini-books on the New Testament.  I clocked myself at 50 minutes and 13 seconds, a bit under the book’s one hour projection.
The book does just about all you can in a single hour of study.  It’s definitely a great resource for those early in their faith journey [...]
