If I had seen this chart five or six years ago and it looked like this, I would have been quite surprised. But to see it like this today, I’m actually not surprised at all. We’ve been fed so much information since 9/11, and having to sort out facts from hypotheses from pure lies has become increasingly difficult.

That’s true. Just thinking about it now, though, I think it’s significant to realize as well that more than half the world’s population is concentrated in areas which might be more “sympathetic” (for lack of better term) to an organization like Al Qaeda.
