I just recently finished “The year of living biblically – one man’s humble quest to follow the Bible as literally as possible” by A.J. Jacobs.
(I listened to the audiobook from the local library over a weeks worth of dishwashing)
I’d recommend this particularly to those in ‘professional’ ministry of any kind. Jacobs is an agnostic, Iand literally wraps his life around the Scriptures for a year.
Some of it is absolutely hilarious, like when he tries to stone an adulterer with pebbles, and some of it is very insightful especially with his Jewish connections.
It’s not worth having as a reference on my bookshelf, but definitely an enjoyable read.
