Heroes…

I’m not much of a TV watcher, especially after Alias ended. But I’ve found a new favorite show that I finally just caught up with online.

Heroes. It’s about ordinary people discovering extraordinary abilities. Sounds like a call to all of humanity.

One of my favorite characters is Hiro Nakamura. Besides the ethnic affinity, I love Hiro because he naively assumes that he can change the world and yet struggles to be brave enough.

One of the best lines from Hiro was:

“If I’m too afraid to use my powers, then I don’t deserve them.”

What powers have you been given?

Good question Lon,

I haven’t seen the show, but I will check it out. Sometimes the very things we think are our “‘powers” are our downfall. We grow up hearing positive comments about those things in our life which just seem so natural to us.

You’re smart…you’re so thorough….you’re funny…beautiful etc. Those are the things within us that God has planted to draw others to us.

Yet, we sometimes pay more heed to the dark side….you’re too intellectual…you’re slow…you’re boisterious…you’re dangerous etc. We believe those things that are in exact opposition to the naturalness our creator placed in us, and that stops us from living through the power.

All that rambling to say…What has God planted in each of us that we should be using? What natural-ness does He want to flow through in the process of us just being ourselves?

In all fairness then, I guess I should answer your question.

I posess the power of Boldness
I posess the power of Leadership
I posess the power of Attraction
I posess the power of Wisdom

oh Lord, shine through me. Permeate my “powers” with your Spirit.

V.

The power to change one life at a time. That’s enough to start a revolution don’t you think! :)

Be blessed Lon. I pray that your family is doing well!

Lon, I think this is the best show on television. I like it how these people all have special abilities but are struggling with the right purpose to use them for. A lot like all of us, we have certain skill sets, and spiritual gifts that we often don’t know how to use or when to use them.

V, not rambling at all. those are great thoughts. I guess it’s true what they say about how it takes 7 compliments to balance out one negative remark. Most of us are more than well aware enough of our flaws, quirks, and faults. Those are quite the superpowers you’ve got!!

Scott… thanks so much for the prayers. You’ve already contributed to the revolution. Keep at it!

eBrian, yes, i think the show absolutely rocks. It’s action/insight-packed and has that epic feel to it every episode!
