I’m not sure why this image stirs me…

Date January 23, 2006

Whatever you think of Joyce Meyer (one of our top 50’s in my previous post), she helped rally 40,000 people across India to pray and reflect on Christ. Â

I’m a minority myself, attending an ethnic church, yet something wierd inside of me still thinks ‘wow, they worship our Lord too’…

I absolutely believe the Scriptures when it talks about every tongue, and tribe, and nation, worshiping God… I just don’t think i’ve come even close to experiencing the full richness and beauty of it all. I wonder when that day will come…

How cool! I’m so cynical sometimes that I dismiss popular things just because of their popularity (including popular Christians). I like your attitued of just apprecating the bond we share with them as fellow Christ-worshipers.

    Keep posting the great pictures!

I love seeing pictures and videos of different cultures around the world worshipping God! And whilst Joyce Meyer’s style might not be quite my cup of tea, I’ve enjoyed a lot of her teaching in recent years.

I actually got to worship with an estimated crowd over between 5 and 7 MILLION people in Nigeria a couple of years ago…a truly awesome experience!

It happens once a year near Lagos. They have “smaller” monthly nights of prayer, worship, and teaching in a building which seats an estimated 1.25 million!

That is very powerful. And maybe they sing similar songs, and God sings along in THEIR language….

Reminds me of a message I heard by Rob bell on living ‘in tune’ with ultimate reality… God’s been singing his song since the beginning of time, and more and more of us are stumbling into harmony with Him as we connect with reality as it’s rawest…
